Android Full-Screen Alerts Setup Guide

This guide is designed so that Visualfy has “full permission” to alert you in an emergency, preventing the operating system from blocking alerts to save battery.

🛡️ Critical Alerts Setup Guide for Android #

For Visualfy to turn on your screen and alert you to an important sound, your phone must know that this app is a priority. Follow the steps for your phone brand.

Before going to each brand’s specific settings, make sure you do this:

  1. Give the battery “freedom”:
    • Find the Visualfy icon on your home screen.
    • Press and hold the icon until a small menu appears. Tap the info symbol (an “i” inside a circle).
    • Find the Battery, Power or Battery usage option.
    • Select Unrestricted (this stops the phone from “putting the app to sleep” after a few hours without use).
  2. Notification priority:
    • In that same app info menu, open Notifications.
    • Make sure all switches are on (blue).
    • If you see an option that says “Allow interruptions” or “Set as priority”, turn it on.

2. Xiaomi, Redmi and POCO (MIUI / HyperOS) #

These phones are the strictest and “forget” apps very quickly if you do not set them up like this:

  1. The master permission (pop-up windows):
    • Go to Settings > Apps > Manage apps.
    • Find and tap Visualfy.
    • Open Other permissions.
    • Find “Display pop-up windows while running in the background”.
    • Tap it and select Always allow (it should show a green check).
  2. Autostart:
    • On the previous screen (App info), find Autostart and turn on the switch. This lets the app “wake up” on its own if the phone restarts or the memory is cleared.
  3. The lock trick (so it never closes):
    • Open the Visualfy app.
    • Go back to the home screen and open the menu that shows all your open apps (usually the square button, or swiping up from the bottom).
    • Press and hold the Visualfy window. A lock icon appears. Tap it. Now, even if you tap the “X” to close everything, Visualfy keeps watching in the background.

3. Samsung (One UI) #

Samsung usually gives priority to its own lock screen. Do this so that Visualfy can “jump” on top:

  1. Change the alert style:
    • Go to Settings > Notifications > Notification pop-up style.
    • Make sure Detailed is selected. “Brief” mode sometimes stops the screen from turning on fully.
  2. Show content on the lock screen:
    • Go to Settings > Lock screen > Notifications.
    • Make sure Show details is selected and, very important, that Hide content is OFF. If it is on, Samsung will ask for your PIN before letting you see the alert.
  3. Appear on top:
    • In the Settings search box, type “Appear on top”.
    • Find Visualfy in the list and make sure the switch is on.

4. OPPO and Realme (ColorOS) #

These models need you to confirm that the app can work on its own:

  1. Allow full startup:
    • Go to Settings > Apps > App management > Visualfy.
    • Tap Battery usage.
    • Turn on the three options: Allow background activity, Allow auto launch and Allow secondary launch.
  2. Floating window:
    • In the same Visualfy menu, find Floating windows or Display over other apps and make sure it is allowed.

5. Google Pixel and other brands (Android 14+) #

If you have a Pixel 7 or a phone with the latest Android version:

  1. Alarms permission:
    • Go to Settings > Apps > Special app access.
    • Find Alarms & reminders.
    • Find Visualfy and make sure it has permission.
  2. Display over other apps:
    • In the same Special app access menu, find Display over other apps and give Visualfy permission.

🧪 How do I know I did it right? (The final test) #

When you finish the settings, do this “acid test”:

  1. Open Visualfy and then go back to the phone’s home screen.
  2. Lock the screen (so it goes black).
  3. Wait 10 minutes without touching the phone.
  4. Trigger a test alert (from the “Test alert” button, or by receiving a notification from an app set up in Third-party apps in Visualfy).

If the screen turns on by itself and you see the alert color, congratulations! Your phone is now 100% safe with Visualfy.

Note: If you ever restart your phone, we recommend opening the app once to make sure the whole monitoring system starts correctly.
