Visualfy Places Alerts

Table Of Contents

Visualfy Places is an app that gives deaf people and people with hearing loss real-time visual alerts and notifications, so they can stay informed about important events around them.

Visualfy recognizes relevant sounds around you through artificial intelligence, integration with other systems and several app features, offering a complete catalog of accessible alerts.

Visualfy App alerts use a color code tested with users:

  • Red, orange and yellow show notifications that need action, from most to least serious.
  • Green shows informative alerts that usually do not need any action from the user.
  • Emergency: sound of a fire alarm, an intrusion alarm or an evacuation warning.
  • Safety alerts: sound of an ambulance, a car alarm or a horn.
  • Alerts: sound of the doorbell, the phone or an alarm clock.
  • Informative alerts: sound of a baby crying, a coffee maker or the microwave.
  • Accessible SMS: alerts from public services and companies by SMS.
  • Appointment alert: notifications from queue management systems.
  • Loudspeaker alerts: building managers send users the messages announced over the building’s loudspeakers.
  • Custom notifications: building managers and owners send users scheduled messages.

Double alert filtering #

To keep response times as short as possible, Visualfy Places automatically sends alerts to the signage lamps, to smartphones with the app installed and to all connected wearables.

However, to avoid false positives, a double filter can be set up so that a person in charge can check that there is a real danger before the alert is spread across the whole building.

If that person cancels the alert, the signage lamps go back to their normal idle state. If they do not act within 60 seconds, the system automatically sends the alerts to the whole building.
