With the Visualfy Alarm Clock you create alarms on your iPhone and you can make your Philips Hue bulbs flash at the chosen time, so the alert is visual at home too.
NOTE: the alarm clock works differently depending on your iOS version. With iOS 26.1 or later, it rings like an iPhone alarm, even if the app is closed, and you can choose the sound. With earlier versions, it alerts you with Visualfy notifications. This page tells you what changes in each case.
Required permissions #
- iOS 26.1 or later: the iPhone asks you to allow Visualfy to schedule alarms. If you don’t allow it, you can’t use the alarm clock. If you refused it, the app shows “Visualfy does not have access to your alarms.”: tap “Settings” and turn it on in the iPhone Settings.
- Earlier versions: you need to have Visualfy notifications turned on.
Accessing the Alarm Clock #
- Open the Visualfy app with your account.
- In the bottom bar, tap “Mobile”.
- Tap the “Alarm Clock” card.
You will see your list of alarms. At the top you have the help button “i” and the settings gear. At the bottom right, the “+” button to create an alarm and the Hue button to link your Hue Bridge.
Creating an alarm #
- Tap “+”. The “New alarm” screen opens.
- Choose the time and the other options.
- Tap “Save” at the bottom.
If you tap the X at the top, you leave without saving.
Alarm settings #
Time and name #
- Set the time: move the hours and minutes wheel.
- Name: type a name to recognize it. If you leave it empty, it is saved as “Alarm clock label”.
Repeat #
Turn on “Repeat the alarm on multiple days” and mark the days of the week when you want it to go off.
Mobile notification #
- iOS 26.1 or later: in “Sound” you choose the alarm sound: “Default”, Aurora, Bamboo, Chord, Circles, Complete, Hello, Input, Keys, Popcorn, Pulse or Synth. When you tap one, you hear it. Tap “Save” to choose it.
- Earlier versions: you can turn on “Vibration”. The sound is always the same.
Notifications to other devices #
Tap “Philips Hue Lights” to choose which bulbs flash when the alarm goes off, or tap “Turn all the lights on”. If you don’t have a Hue Bridge linked yet, Visualfy takes you to the screen to link it.
General settings #
With the settings gear in the list you set options for all your alarms. Tap “Save” to save the changes.
- Repeat alarm after: how many minutes the alarm is delayed when you tap “Snooze”: 1, 2, 5, 10, 15, 20 or 25, or “Never” if you don’t want to be able to snooze it. By default, 10 minutes.
- Start of the week: Monday, Friday, Saturday or Sunday, to order the days when repeating.
- Silence alarm after (only on versions earlier than iOS 26.1): how long the alarm keeps alerting you if you do nothing: 1, 2 or 5 minutes. By default, 5 minutes.
When the alarm goes off #
With iOS 26.1 or later #
The iPhone shows the alarm with its name and plays the sound you chose, even if Visualfy is closed. You can stop it or tap “Snooze” so it goes off again after the minutes set in “Repeat alarm after”. If you turned on Hue bulbs, they flash at the time of the alarm.
With earlier versions #
Visualfy sends you a notification every few seconds, with the title “Alarm clock” and the name, during the “Silence alarm after” time. Touch and hold the notification to see the “Stop” and “Snooze” buttons.
If you tap the notification, the alarm opens full screen in Visualfy, with the sound and vibration (if you turned it on), and the “Snooze” button and the button to turn it off.
NOTE: on versions earlier than iOS 26.1, the iPhone only lets Visualfy schedule a few alerts at a time. With “Silence alarm after” set to 5 minutes, only the next alarm is scheduled. Open Visualfy from time to time so the next ones get scheduled.
If the alarm doesn’t repeat, it is turned off after it goes off. If it repeats, it will go off on the next chosen day.
Editing, turning off and deleting #
- Edit: tap the alarm in the list.
- Turn off or on: use the switch of each alarm. Alarms that are off are shown in grey.
- Delete: swipe the alarm to the left and tap “Delete”, or tap the trash icon when editing it. Confirm with “Delete alarm”.
Troubleshooting #
Philips Hue bulbs don’t turn blue #
On iPhone, due to a Philips Hue limitation on iOS, the bulbs can’t turn on in the alarm color. If you turned them on for the alarm, they flash at the time of the alarm.
