WHAT IS VISUALFY HOME?

Visualfy Home is an artificial intelligence device for deaf people and people with hearing loss, which recognizes the most important sounds in your home and converts them into light signals and notifications, on the same system or in any connected device.Visualfy Home listens for you to sounds such as the doorbell, telephone, baby crying, telephone, alarm clock or fire alarm, so that you can react in time.

WHICH ARE THE PARTS OF VISUALFY HOME

Visualfy Home consists of a main unit called DSS and three detectors wich recognize the sounds in your house to translate them into light signals. The DSS is in charge of receiving the signal captured by the detectors and sending the command to the whole system to be illuminated to warn you that a sound is being produced. It also acts as a sound detector.

HOW DOES VISUALFY HOME WORK?

Visualfy Home works with a free APP, which you have to install on your mobile (Android or IOS). From the APP you configure the system (DSS and detectors), selecting where you place the detectors, the sounds you need to recognize, the color in which you want the luminous signals or where you want to receive them, among other things. When a sound that you have already configured in your computer is produced, the lights of all the detectors are turned on and, in addition, you receive a notification in the intelligent device (mobile, light bulbs or wearable device) that you have chosen.

DOES VISUALFY HOME NEED INSTALLATION?

HOW IS THE VISUALFY HOME INSTALLED?

“First download the Visualfy APP and register. Then open the APP, log in and follow the steps: – Plug the DSS into an AC socket and to the Internet router.
– Scan the QR code of the DSS base and wait for it to recognize it.
– Indicate the name of the DSS and the place of the house where we have installed it.
Connect the detectors that we need in the place of the house where we want to hear some sound (remember that the same detector can hear all the sounds that come determined in the APP).
– Wait for the APP to recognize the detectors and indicate where in the house you have installed them.
– Add the alerts that you want to detect.
– Finally train each alert recording the sounds of your house or activating the alert in the case of the baby and the teapot.”
– First of all we have to ask what kind of doubt has the customerwith the installation.
– If it is in an initial process it is better to reset it and start over.
– To save time it is preferable send to the customer the initial video presentation and follow the steps.
– It is very important to do the well the first installation. Choose well the location of the detectors and train well the alerts.

IF I RESET THE DSS AND RETURN IT TO INSTALL, DOES THE SUBSCRIPTION PERIOD START AGAIN?

No. The subscription period is one year and begins at the time you make the first installation (when entering the serial number of the DSS in the record). Please, do not reset the DSS if we do not tell you.

WHAT DOES VISUALFY'S HOME BOX CONTAIN ?

Inside the box you will find the DSS or main unit (the brain of the system), three detectors, the light charger and the Internet connection cable.

OPERATION

WHERE DO I HAVE TO PLUG IN THE DSS?

The DSS or central unit must be located near the router, because it must be connected to the Internet so that you can receive notifications on intelligent devices. Remember that the DSS works like another sound detector, so you can use it to detect the sounds nearby if you train it for it.

HOW DO I DELETE THE DSS CONFIGURATION IN ORDER TO START THE INSTALLATION AGAIN?

Within the APP you have to click on the option “Unlink Visualfy Home”. Please note that all information will be lost and it will be necessary to start the installation process from the beginning.

CAN I CHANGE THE DSS FROM ONE HOUSE TO ANOTHER?

Yes, all you have to do is untie it and, already in the new house, redo the installation from the beginning.

WHY DO I HAVE TO RECORD SOME SOUNDS AND NOT OTHERS?

Sounds like baby and teapot are already trained in the DSS and you just have to activate them. On the other hand, sounds like the doorbell or the alarm have to be recorded, because there are countless different sounds and the DSS has to know exactly how your home sounds.

I CAN'T RECORD BECAUSE THERE'S A LOT OF NOISE

Note that it is the detector which records the sound (it is not recorded with the mobile phone). It is necessary that the detector where you are trying to record an alert has no noise around it. Check that there is no open window, that the TV is not turned on or any other element that may be preventing the environment from being silent. The APP has a waveform that warns you if there is ambient noise or not.

CAN SEVERAL PEOPLE USE THE SAME DSS?

Yes, several family members can receive alerts, each one with their own account. However, there is only one account owner for each Visualfy Home and the rest, up to a total of 15, login with a guest account. They have access to the alerts configured by the owner but cannot change anything.

THE DSS HAS A RED LIGHT

It means there is a problem with one or more detectors. It is due to bad communication between the detector and DSS. Inside the APP you can see which detector is having problems. In order to solve it, it is necessary to bring the detector closer to the DSS or check if there is any obstacle in front of the detector or the DSS that prevents the correct communication between them.

DSS HAS THE INTERMITTENT GREEN LIGHT

There’s no Internet connection. We must restart the DSS and, if the problem continues, reboot the router. Make sure that the cables are well connected. If the problem persists contact your telephone operator.

DSS HAS A FIXED GREEN LIGHT

The fixed green light means that the computer is connected to the Internet and works properly.

HOW CAN I CHANGE THE NAME OF THE DSS?

You can change the name of the DSS using the APP. Go to the configuration menu and click on DSS. Then you will see a screen where you can change the name.

HOW CAN I CHANGE THE NAME OF THE DETECTORS?

To choose the name we have to do it in the first installation of the detector. If we have already installed it, we have to select change of place and choose the name of the detector. This removes all the alerts that were in that detector. To customize the name of the room where we have placed the detector, we have to select the room “Other” and then we can handwrite the name of the room, for example: “Baby room”.

CAN I MOVE THE DETECTORS TO ANOTHER PART OF THE HOME?

Yes, but before moving them you have to click on the APP option “Change detector place” and follow the instructions. When you have it in the new location, it is preferable that you retrain it so that it works properly.

CAN I MOVE THE DSS TO ANOTHER HOME?

DSS must be disengaged, this will erase all detectors. Afterwards, the entire installation process must be repeated in the new house.

I CANNOT UNTIE THE DSS, IT CONTINUOUSLY SAYS TO TRY LATER

The problem is that some detector has a bad connection. It is necessary to bring the detectors as close as possible to the DSS so they recover a good connection and then disconnect.

MY MOBILE DOES NOT READ THE QR CODE FOR REGISTRATION

No problem, you can write the serial number by hand by clicking on the option “Write the code by hand”. Please note that it is necessary to write the letters in capital letters to be recognized.

DETECTORS

WHAT ARE THE THREE DETECTORS FOR?

The detectors are responsible for listening to the sounds produced in the environment wich we need to recognize. When they detect any of the configured sounds, they send the signal to the DSS to identify which sound has been detected and then the DSS sends the signal to the detectors so that the whole system (DSS and detectors) is illuminated with the colour selected for that alert.

WHERE DO I PLUG IN THE DETECTORS?

For detectors to hear sounds correctly, they must face the sound source we want to identify. It is not necessary that they are very close, but it is important that they are in the same room or, at most, at a distance of twenty meters. Remember that the same detector can hear all the sounds of all the alerts in the app. It is important that you do not place two detectors too close together or in the same room or it could cause problems to detect the sounds.

HOW TO CHANGE THE NAME OF THE ROOM WHERE THE DETECTOR OR DSS IS LOCATED

Once you have chosen the room where you have placed the detector or the DSS, you cannot change the name. To write the name of the room, you must select the location “Other” and give it to the next one. Then you can enter the name of the room you want: for example “Baby room”.

DO I HAVE TO PLUG IN ALL THE DETECTORS?

It is not necessary to plug in all the detectors wich come in the box. Each detector recognizes all sounds that are nearby if you train it previously. It must be placed close to the sound source we want to hear. If the house is not very large or the sounds are located in a specific area, it will not be necessary to plug them all in.

HOW MANY ALERTS CAN I CONFIGURE IN A SINGLE DETECTOR?

You can configure all the alerts you need in a detector. There is no limit to the number of alerts per detector.

CAN I TRAIN SEVERAL ALERTS ON THE SAME DETECTOR?

Of course. All detectors are prepared so you can train all the alarms you need.

WHY DO THE DETECTORS HAVE A PLUG?

Because in this way you can continue to use the socket where the detector is connected.

WHAT IS THE DISTANCE FOR THE DETECTOR TO RECOGNIZE A SOUND?

A detector should be placed in the same room in which the sound is produced, or as close to it as possible. In addition, whenever possible, it should be placed in a clear location in order to receive the DSS signal and see the light alerts.

CAN I UNPLUG THE DSS OR THE DETECTORS FROM THE ELECTRICAL CURRENT?

Before removing the detector from the socket or relocating it, click on the APP option “relocate detector” and follow the instructions.

I CANNOT UNLINK THE DETECTORS

Bring the detector closer to the plug closest to the DSS to improve the connection and then try again to unlink it. Please check that the green light on the DSS is steady; flashing means that you have an Internet connection problem and you should check with your provider. If you are still having problems unlinking it, please contact our customer service.

WHY DO DETECTORS LIGHT UP IN DIFFERENT COLORS?

This is because the DSS is not linked to the detector.

WHY ARE THERE DIFFERENT COLORS FOR NOTIFICATIONS?

From the APP you can configure the color of each notification to be able to differentiate them. For example, if you decide that Visualfy warns you of the doorbell in blue, each time the door rings, the DSS and the detectors will light up in blue so you will know what type of notification you are receiving just by seeing the colour.

WHERE CAN I CHECK IF THE DETECTORS ARE WORKING PROPERLY?

In the configuration menu, click on the name of the DSS. The next screen shows the DSS and all the detectors you have connected and you can check the status of each of them.

HOW IS THE SOUND RECORDED?

To record the sound first we must be sure that the environment is in silence. Before recording the app tells you if the environment is silent and shows you a wave with the ambient sound. When the room is silent, the application allows you to start recording the sound you want to detect. Please note that if the room is not silent, the app will not allow the start of the recording. Finally, remember that the sound is recorded with the detector, not with the mobile phone.

The application is the control center of the device. From it you install it and access all the equipment configurations: alerts training, color configuration, activate or mute notifications, etc.

CAN THE APP BE USED BY SEVERAL PEOPLE?

Yes, there is a proprietary user who is the administrator of the APP and can configure all the options of the equipment and give access to up to fifteen people. These users are invited and can use the APP with all the functionalities that the administrator has configured, but they cannot modify anything. This is done to avoid confusion in the alerts, since only one person decides the alerts and their color and configuration.

CAN I USE AN ALERT TO WARN ME OF A DIFFERENT SOUND WHICH IS NOT REGISTERED BY VISUALFY HOME?

No. For each alert to work properly, it should only be used for the type of sound for which it has been set.

HOW DO I RECEIVE NOTIFICATIONS ON MY MOBILE?

Every time the detectors receive one of the sounds that are trained, at the same time that the lights of the devices (DSS and detectors) are illuminated, you will receive a notification on your mobile phone or on the intelligent device that you have configured (smart watch, smart bulbs, smart band).

HOW DO I INVITE OTHERS TO CONNECT TO MY COMPUTER TO RECEIVE NOTIFICATIONS?

From the APP you have to enter the DSS and click on the “+” icon in the user menu and then click on the icon to invite a user.

I'VE CHANGED MY PHONE. DO I HAVE TO REGISTER AGAIN?

No. All you have to do is download the APP again and login with the same username and password. You don’t need to do new training again, just log in.

ARE THERE MORE ALERTS AVAILABLE?

WHY THE LIGHT OF THE MOBILE SCREEN DOES NOT LIGHT WHEN RECEIVING NOTIFICATIONS

In Android, in order for the mobile screen to light up when receiving notifications, you must have the unlock pattern option activated. In IOS the screen is not illuminated and you receive the alert with a balloon of notifications, just like the rest of notifications from other applications. This is because IOS has limited access to their system settings.

WHAT IS AN ALERT?

An alert is the warning you receive that consists of coloured lights in the detectors and DSS (central unit), or as notifications in your smart devices (mobile, light bulbs, smartwatch), when one of the sounds you have configured sounds.

HOW DO I KNOW WHEN AN ALERT OCCURS?

Every time Visualfy Home recognizes any of the sounds it has configured, it warns you by illuminating the whole system, DSS and detectors, and sending you a notification to your intelligent devices, in the colour you have indicated.

ON WHAT DEVICES CAN I RECEIVE ALERTS?

You can receive alerts on the system, on your mobile and on smart devices such as smartbands, smartwatches or Philips HUE smart bulbs, among others.

CAN I RECEIVE NOTIFICATIONS ON SMART BULBS?

Yes, it is currently available in Philips HUE bulbs and soon will be available in other brands.

CAN I TRAIN SOUNDS IN THE DSS?

Yes. The DSS works like one more detector and you can train alerts on it. Remember that each detector, including the DSS, can detect all the sounds of all the available alerts.

HOW DO I KNOW ABOUT AN ALERT WHEN I DON'T HAVE MY CELL PHONE ON ME?

The system (DSS and detectors) lights up to warn you, and you’ll receive an alert on the smart devices you’ve selected.

SOMETIMES I RECEIVE NOTIFICATIONS THAT AREN'T REAL.

Sometimes you may have some false positive notifications. This can happen for several reasons: errors during the recording of sounds in the training stage, noises in the house similar to the sound we want to detect, etc. If this happens to you, please contact our customer service.

I DON'T GET ANY REAL NOTICE, THEY'RE ALL FALSE ALERTS.

This can happen due to an error during alert training. Please check the section “How is the sound recorded?” which indicates how to record the sounds. Please contact our customer service.

I RECEIVE ALERTS FROM THE BABY WHEN HE LAUGHS OR TALKS.

This is the correct operation of the equipment. DSS warns you when your baby makes a sound, not just when she/he cries. We advise you to use this alert only when you need to watch your baby and to deactivate it when you don’t need it.

I HAVE A LOT OF FALSE NOTIFICATIONS.

I'VE TRAINED AN ALERT. HOW LONG DOES IT TAKE TO BE AVAILABLE?

When you train an alert, the system has to process the sounds you just recorded. This process takes a few minutes. Depending on the quality of the recorded sounds the waiting time will be longer or shorter. In general this process takes between 10 and 20 minutes approximately.

HOW FAR AWAY DOES THE SOUND HAVE TO BE TO THE DETECTOR WHEN I RECORD IT?

The sound training must be done at the same distance as the detector is going to listen to the sound we want to detect. Try not to bring the detector too close to the sound when you record it or the alert will only be activated when the sound is very close to it.

CAN I TRAIN OTHER ALERTS WHILE ANOTHER ONE I JUST RECORDED IS BEING PROCESSED?

Yes, while the application is processing an alert you just trained, you can continue training other different alerts and recording sounds.

WHY DO I HAVE TO PAY AN ANNUAL SUBSCRIPTION?

The annual subscription to Visualfy Home allows the operation and continuous improvement of our service. With it you will also have access to future functionalities and new sounds, in a constantly expanding catalogue, and to our customer service. Our commitment is the constant and continuous improvement of your Visualfy Home.

CAN I TRY VISUALFY HOME AND RETURN IT IF I'M NOT CONVINCED?

Yes. You’ve got a one-month period to test Visualfy Home and return it if you’re not convinced. Please check the conditions on our website.

WHEN DOES THE 1 YEAR SUBSCRIPTION PERIOD START?

The deadline starts when you do the first installation, when you read the QR code from the base of the device (or when you enter the serial number by hand).
