THE COLD WEATHER INCREASES THE ELECTRICITY BILL: 100 EUROS MORE PER YEAR
Last Wednesday the Minister of Energy, Tourism and Digital Agenda, Álvaro Nadal, announced that filling the gas tank will be more expensive and that the electricity bill will increase more than 100 euros per year.
Nadal has stated that the highest cost of electricity bill has been reached for several reasons: the cold weather, the lack of rain and wind and the increase of oil products in the agreement between the OPEP and the other countries, and with the strike of part of the French nuclear park.
In addition, Nadal mentions that actions could be taken by the Government to reduce prices. In fact, the Government has requested a report to from the National Commission on Markets and Competition (CNMC), to find out what can be done to moderate prices.
