Bilingual education of deaf students

From INEE present an interesting blog article on ‘How to get a healthy and inclusive school also for deaf children?’


One of the main conclusions of the study is that both the status of sign language as the stage of development in bilingual school experience, and participation of deaf teachers to be adopted as indicators for assessing and projecting inclusive and promoting initiatives school health for deaf children.


  • Social justice with particular reference to equal rights between people with and without disabilities.
  • Equity in health.
  • Community action specifically reflected in the active and full participation of organizations representing deaf people.
  • Sustainability.

The research presented aims, from design to drafting its conclusions, set the need to build inclusive and health-promoting schools for deaf students sign language user change. For this, the research includes the experience and perspective of deaf people in the whole process as key agents of change, which, in turn, is consistent with the right of members of the deaf community to participate in the decisions affecting their education and determine their health.
